Good morning (or evening depending on when you are reading this). I hope all of you are doing well. Been a little busy so have not been able to post this week yet, So, today is the day!
As I continue to read Andrew Murray, I am continuing to be challenged and stretched. One paragraph this morning was especially good.
“And the let us look to Jesus. In death He glorified God; through death He was glorified with Him. It is by dying – being dead to self and living for God – that we can glorify Him. This death to self, this life to the glory of God, is what Jesus gives and lives in each one who can trust Him for it. Let the spirit of our daily lives consist of the decision to live only for the glory of the Father as Christ did, the acceptance of Him with His life and strength working it in us, and the joyful assurance that we can live for the glory of God because Christ lives in us. Jesus helps us to live this way. The Holy Spirit is waiting to make it our experience, if we will only trust and let Him. Don’t hold back through unbelief! Confidently do everything for the glory of God! Our obedience will please the Father. The Holy Spirit will seal us within with the consciousness that we are living for God and His glory.”
I have talked about before why I named my site “Absolute Surrender”. This paragraph ties so well within that. Dead to self and living for God. Daily that is my prayer. Lord, help me to die to myself and I surrender this day to you. Then at the end of the day, can I sign my name to that day that I served the Lord well.
One other line in that is especially good – “…the joyful assurance that we can live for the glory of God because Christ lives in us. Jesus helps us to live this way. The Holy Spirit is waiting to make it our experience, if we will only trust and let Him. Don’t hold back through unbelief!” Joyful Assurance! I love that phrase and I am so thankful that as followers for Jesus Christ, we can have that; in the face of anything else going on around us. I pray for each of you today, fresh surrender and joyful assurance! Until next time!
