Good morning to you. Last week I posted about “The Throne Room”, if you were unable to read that one I would challenge you to read it before this one. In Revelation 4 which we focused on last time and in Revelation 5, this post’s focus, both occur in the Throne Room of God. I have been spending some great time in these 2 chapters, reading and studying, also listening to sermons from some of my favorite teachers. I have had one verse especially rocking me this week.

However, before we get to that verse a few things out of this chapter. John is getting this amazing window into the Throne Room. You have God on the throne, 4 amazingly intimidating angels around the throne, 24 smaller thrones with elders on them, and then literally millions of angels around. John is trying to write what he sees! Can you even imagine trying to write this down?! Anyway, you have God on the throne holding a scroll out for anyone to take it. The issue is that no one can or will take it.

I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed up with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to break its seals?” And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it. Then I began to weep greatly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it.

John weeping greatly as NO ONE is worthy. Then one of the elders speaks;

And one of the elders *said to me, “Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to be able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

John is now getting ready to behold the LION! And then read what happens – “And I saw between the throne (with the four living creatures) and the elders a Lamb standing, as if slaughtered, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.

A LAMB! What about the LION? The conquering LION now stands as a slaughtered LAMB and what does this LAMB do? The verse that has been my focus, verse 7;

And He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.

YES!!!! The only ONE worthy took the scroll, Jesus Christ, the LionLamb. He is worthy and He is only one! Then all of Heaven breaks out into worship!

“8 When He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they *sang a new song, saying,

“Worthy are You to take the scroll and to break its seals; for You were slaughtered, and You purchased people for God with Your blood from every tribe, language, people, and nation.

10 You have made them into a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign upon the earth.”

11 Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice,

“Worthy is the Lamb that was slaughtered to receive power, wealth, wisdom, might, honor, glory, and blessing.”

13 And I heard every created thing which is in heaven, or on the earth, or under the earth, or on the sea, and all the things in them, saying,

“To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be the blessing, the honor, the glory, and the dominion forever and ever.”

14 And the four living creatures were saying, “Amen.” And the elders fell down and worshiped.

Will you join me in worshipping the only One worthy to take the scroll, Jesus Christ the LionLamb?

The Throne Room

Good morning. Sorry it has been a minute since my last post. God has been doing a lot in my life and my walk with Him, so I have been trying to be silent! Now I feel it is time to share some of what He has been teaching me. I am in a small group with an incredible group of men, and we are going through the book of Revelation. We are now 4 chapters in (finished chapter 4 this morning), and let me tell you, this is probably my favorite study I have ever done.

First of all, I have always been intimated by this book. I have read Revelation at least a couple of times, but I have never really studied it. I have always shied away from it as there are so many parts that have either scared me, or left me feeling very confused! So not that we are doing this, I am soaking it up. Especially chapter 4 and 5! So this post will be mostly about chapter 4 and a little of chapter 5 (next post will probably be a lot more chapter 5). It is amazing how God works. For those who read this blog, the last post was the song “Worthy of it all”. Little did I realize that the Lord was preparing me for Chapter 4! I am going to post a 30 minute version that I promise you if you read chapter 4 and then listen to this song, there is no way you will can stay the same! This song was written for this chapter.

One of the main things that i think after spending time in Revelation 4 and 5 that God is teaching me is that He will be worshipped and He only is worthy of worship! Listening to some different sermons and doing a lot of studying, this is the part that I want to leave you with (before I post the song). There are a good bit of different educated opinions from different pastors and teachers I respect as to who some of the key players are in this chapter, so I am not going to dwell on that, I want you to see the worship that our Lord and Savior is receiving and will forever receive! I will be posting from the NASB version and I hope you see the building and the intensity of worship!

Part 1 – the quartet – Revelation 4:5-8

Out from the throne come flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder. And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God; and before the throne there was something like a sea of glass, like crystal; and in the center and around the throne, four living creatures full of eyes in front and behind. The first creature was like a lion, and the second creature like a calf, and the third creature had a face like that of a man, and the fourth creature was like a flying eagle. And the four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within; and day and night they do not cease to say, “HOLY, HOLY, HOLY is THE LORD GOD, THE ALMIGHTY, WHO WAS AND WHO IS AND WHO IS TO COME.”

So here we have the 4 angels that are around THE Throne, day and night praising. Next…

Part 2 – the 28 – Revelation 4:9-11

And when the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, to Him who lives forever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders will fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and will worship Him who lives forever and ever, and will cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 “Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.”

Now the 4 angels are joined by the 24 elders worshipping and offering. Next…

Part 3 – the 28 plus some band instruments – Revelation 5:8-10

When He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. 10 “You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.”

Now the 28, each holding harps singing a new song! Speaking of the Lion from the tribe of Judah, the Lamb, Jesus Christ, who is the only one worthy! Then the climax….

Part 4 – many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands – Revelation 5:11-14

11 Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing.” 13 And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying, “To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever.” 14 And the four living creatures kept saying, “Amen.” And the elders fell down and worshiped.

WOW!!! Will you be joining this worship? Every knee will bow and tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord. Will He be your Savior as well? I hope this song blesses you like it has been and continues to bless me!

Worthy of it all

Good morning and welcome back! For all 5 of my readers, you have learned that I love worship music. I love to share music that is inspiring me, challenging me, encouraging. or just plain good! Some of my favorite music is Shane and Shane as I have shared before. They do something called the Worship Initiative and have been for a while. They released volume 25 and I was listening to it on the way in this morning.

Then it changed from listening to worshipping. The song that did it for me was Shane and Shane’s version of “Worthy of it All”. As I sang this song (Shane³) the lyrics really hit me. This song is being sang directly to my Lord and Savior Jesus! He is worthy of it all, every part of me. ABSOLUTE SURRENDER! My Bible reading from the morning, before I left, was Philippians 2 – focused on verses 8-11

“8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Jesus became man, became His creation. The humility and love! Then verses 10 and 11. EVERY knee and EVERY tongue. No matter who, think about that. So each and every person who has ever lived and who ever will live, whether or not they believed here on earth, will bow and confess. He is either Lord AND Savior for us who follow Him, or Lord for those who don’t. But those who don’t surrender and bow the knee to Him as Lord and Savior, will still bow and confess He is LORD. We have to share Him with others. Here are the lyrics to “Worthy of it All” – HE IS WORTHY!

Worthy Of It All

All the saints and angels bow before Your throne
All the elders cast their crowns before the Lamb of God and sing

You are worthy of it all,
You are worthy of it all
For from You are all things,
And to You are all things,
You deserve the glory

Day and night, night and day, let incense arise
Day and night, night and day, let incense arise
Day and night, night and day, let incense arise
Day and night, night and day, let incense arise

Friday has arrived

Good morning. Whew, what a week. Been good but busy. A couple of things to share with you. New song from one of my favs, JUDAH!

Next thing to share, If you are not watching “The Chosen”, I would challenge you to. It is so good. Season 2 just started, 3 episodes in. They released 2 episodes this week and let me tell you, the end of the third episode really hit me hard. Worth your time for sure.

Lastly, possibly my favorite band (definitely top3 ) is NEEDTOBREATHE. Today they released a Live album that is EXCELLENT!

So there you go, on this share Friday, three things for you to enjoy. I hope and pray each of you have a great weekend. Serve the Lord well! I am here if you need prayer, please let me know. I am reading a book on intercessory prayer that is challenging me for sure. So, that being said, I would consider it an honor to be able to pray for you! Love you, stay surrendered!

The Honor and Duty of Prayer

Good morning and I hope each of you is having a great week. Lately, it seems that all verses are pointing me to the same thing. Praying for the persecuted around the world. It is a very heavy burden, and can be daunting and overwhelming when you see news of brothers and sisters in North Korea, or India, or Nigeria (the list is long) facing severe persecution, imprisonment and even death. Open Doors – states that; “Around the world, more than 340 million Christians live in places where they experience high levels of persecution, just for following Jesus. That’s 1 in 8 believers, worldwide.” Each year they publish their World Watch List of the 50 places around the world where it costs the most to follow Jesus Christ. It is believed that there is approximately 100,000 martyrs each year!

Hebrews 13:3 ” Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.”

These people around the world are part of the same body we are! We are told to pray for them. When I pray it gives me comfort to know that the Holy Spirit that is in me is the same one that is in those brothers and sisters and He knows them just like He knows me!

1 Timothy 2:1-4 “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

God, our Savior, desires all to be saved and come to Him. We are urged that;

  1. Supplications – this is a prayer of need – the lost need Jesus!
  2. Prayers – we are told to pray and keep on praying and asking
  3. Intercessions – this word means to draw near and speak intimately, this means we should have compassion for the lost and compassion for the persecuted.
  4. Thanksgivings – we need to be more thankful for the fact we get to prayer for the lost and for the body!

This is a dear friend of mine in India. I cannot put his name or location, but this man is a true warrior for Christ. This is a group of new local pastors/missionaries that are being trained to go out and reach the unreached! Please pray for these men as the persecution that is going on in India is getting worse and more heated. The government in India is really starting to crack down on Christianity. Per Global Frontier Missions; “It is estimated that of the 7.75 billion people alive in the world today, 3.23 billion of them live in unreached people groups with little or no access to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. According to Joshua Project, there are approximately 17,446 unique people groups in the world with 7,400+ of them considered unreached (over 41% of the world’s population!).” India is one of the top – they have 2717 people groups, and 2445 (or 90%) are unreached. These men are making a true impact for the Kingdom! Please join me in praying for our brothers and sisters around world and for these brothers in India! God bless you!

Matthew 24:14; “14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”

Happy Easter

He is Risen! He is the Risen Lord and Savior and Romans 8:34 is the verse for today and everyday (Romans 8 is the chapter for everyday! )

34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

Jesus was raised to life and is alive today! The tomb is empty, praise the Lord! There are plenty of great Easter Songs, but 2 of my favorites are old school. One is Don Francisco’s classic, “He’s Alive”. The other is Keith Green’s “Easter Song”. Have a great Easter and stay surrendered!

Holy Week 2021 Good Friday

Good morning, what a day today is for us as followers of Jesus Christ.

The day our Lord Jesus took our sin, what should have been our wrath, our punishment to the cross. Focus on the cross today. We beat him, we drove the nails, we pierced his side, we killed him. Romans 5:6-11

6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 11 More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

These verses from Paul really hit me hard today. Reminding me of what it is all about! Praise the Lord – from my prayer journal this morning;

Wow, all I can say is thank you Jesus. You took all of the junk all the SIN I have and took it, took the wrath of Father, took it. Took the broken relationship, took all the times I have abused your grace. Took all the times I just sinned even though I knew it was a sin. Thank you for taking all the slander, spitting, beating, scourging, splinters, cramps, exhaustion, crown of thorns, weight of the cross, all the physical things you took – then you took the full wrath that was due me. Died the death I should have died. I thank you my Lord and my King. I cannot even put into prayer how thankful I am.

Happy Good Friday – the amazing part, the part that is truly earth shattering, He did not stay dead!

Revelation 1:17-18 “17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last, 18 and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.”

He holds the keys! RESURRECTION DAY is coming!

Holy Week 2021 – Maundy Thursday

Good morning. I hope you are having a great Holy Week. What a week to celebrate our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Today is Maundy Thursday, and what a day. On this day, Jesus gave this commandment (maundy) to his disciples;

31 When he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him. 32 If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and glorify him at once. 33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You will seek me, and just as I said to the Jews, so now I also say to you, ‘Where I am going you cannot come.’ 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” J0hn 13:31-35

How will we (or at least should we) be known? Love. This is Agape love, the highest form of love. Doesn’t that make sense though? Jesus, getting ready to be betrayed, slandered, spit on, beaten, forgotten, and ultimately killed (more on this tomorrow); He is eating dinner with his friends, his disciples. He had already showed them what a servant looks like by washing their feet, now he is reclining with them, all of them (yes even including his betrayer Judas) and sharing a meal. And teaching them. Love.

“How will people know you are my disciples?” If you love one another, without conditions; without expecting them to love you back; whether they agree with you politically, or socially; whether they are the same color or ethnicity; whether they hate you or want to kill you. You love them like I love you, Jesus says. Let’s love each other this way! Think about how different the world would be. See you tomorrow for Good Friday, and yes Sunday is coming! RESURRECTION DAY!

Monday – Holy Week 2021

Good morning. As we continue our Holy Week journey, I wanted to share a song that I have been wearing out. This one talks about the Cost – the cost for my salvation. This song has really been speaking to me A LOT. I pray that it speaks to you as well. I pray that for all of you that this week is one of true reflection of the cost! Lyrics first, then the song.

[Verse 1:]
God, Your heart from the beginning
Every intention so easy to see
There You are in the garden
I am hiding and You’re chasing after me
And Your thoughts never changing
Always breaking all the shame that covers me
You gave Your son to die undeserving
To carry my burden and erase the veil between

And what can express what’s running through Your head?
As You watched him on the tree on that hill
I’ll never forget all that You did
‘Cause You knew with His last breath
All of my sin would go with Him

[Chorus: ]
And though You made it easy for me
How heavy was the cross?
Father, this gift You’ve given
I’ll remember what it cost

[Verse 2:]
Jesus Christ, from the beginning
Every intention so easy to see
There You are in the garden
You were crying not my will but Yours through me
For You knew You’d be returning
And sending Your spirit out for all who believe
So here I am so undeserving
But You made me worthy to draw near to His feet

I can’t comprehend the nails through Your flesh
And get to experience the freedom it gives
I’ll never forget the stripes on Your skin
And the healing I’m receiving
All because of Him

Though You made it easy for me
How heavy was the cross?
Jesus, this life You’ve given
I’ll remember what it cost

Right when the Devil thought he won
All of my shackles came undone
‘Cause You’ve risen from the grave
Now I am free forever
Right when the Devil thought he won
All our veils were up and gone
Now right here in this moment
Heaven’s all around us
Right when the Devil thought he won
All my shame was come undone
‘Cause You’ve risen from the grave
Now I am Yours forever
Right when the Devil thought he won
All our sins were up and gone
Jesus, You sealed and locked our fate
All in a moment

Holy Week 2021

Good morning. This is Holy Week! Palm Sunday today.  This week we really need to focus on our Lord and the price He paid for my sin and your sin. If you believe in Him and follow Him, this week is the most incredible week for us!

“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.” – Zechariah 9:9

“The next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, ‘Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!'” – John 12:12-13

Zechariah foretold of this very day, John shared. This day the crowds praised Him, later that same crowd would hate him, curse Him and crucify our Lord. Will you praise Him today? I am focusing this week on the cross and what my Savior went through for me. Will you join me?
